1. Ownership of BashWeather

BashWeather is owned and operated by Bashar Sawaqed. Unless otherwise noted, all intellectual property rights in BashWeather — including but not limited to the app design, user interface, source code, visual assets, branding, written content, and documentation — are owned exclusively by Bashar Sawaqed.

User Interface & Design

The visual design, layout, color palette, typography choices, icon set, animations, and user experience flows of BashWeather are original works of authorship protected by copyright. You may not replicate, reproduce, or adapt the BashWeather interface or any substantial portion of it without express written permission.

Source Code

The front-end source code (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), service worker implementation, PWA manifest logic, and all associated scripts that constitute BashWeather are proprietary. Viewing source code in your browser for personal, non-commercial, educational reference does not constitute a license to copy, fork, or redistribute that code. Any unauthorized reproduction or distribution of the source code is a violation of copyright law.

Branding

The name "BashWeather," the BashWeather logo (the blue circular icon bearing the stylized "BW" mark or lightning bolt), the BashWeather wordmark, and associated trade dress are proprietary brand assets of Bashar Sawaqed. These marks may not be used in any product, service, company name, domain name, social media handle, or marketing material without prior written consent.

2. Weather Data Attribution

BashWeather retrieves weather forecast data from Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com), an open-source weather API.

Open-Meteo data is provided under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). In accordance with this license, we acknowledge Open-Meteo as the source of weather forecast data displayed in BashWeather.

Open-Meteo in turn sources its data from national meteorological services including NOAA (US), DWD (Germany), ECMWF, Météo-France, and others. BashWeather is not affiliated with any national meteorological authority.

Historical weather data, climate normals, and any supplementary meteorological data displayed in BashWeather may be sourced from additional providers, each of which is attributed within the relevant feature or data view.

3. User Content

BashWeather does not currently provide features for users to publicly post or share original content (such as photos, comments, or reviews). If such features are introduced in the future, the following terms will apply:

• You retain ownership of any original content you submit.
• By submitting content to BashWeather, you grant BashWeather a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content for the purposes of operating and improving the service.
• You represent and warrant that any content you submit does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party.

City names, country names, geographic identifiers, and weather-related terminology are factual data and are not subject to copyright protection. The presentation, formatting, and design in which this data appears within BashWeather remains protected.

4. Prohibited Uses

The following uses of BashWeather's intellectual property are expressly prohibited without prior written authorization from Bashar Sawaqed:

• Scraping: Automated scraping, crawling, or harvesting of any data, content, weather information, or interface elements from BashWeather using bots, scripts, or similar tools.
• Redistribution: Copying, republishing, or distributing weather data, forecasts, or any other content retrieved from BashWeather on any platform, website, application, or service, whether commercial or non-commercial.
• Commercial exploitation: Using any BashWeather content, design, code, or branding to build, operate, or enhance a competing or similar product or service.
• Framing or embedding: Embedding BashWeather pages or app views within frames, iframes, or other containers on third-party sites without permission.
• Reverse engineering: Decompiling, reverse engineering, disassembling, or otherwise attempting to extract the source code or logic of BashWeather.
• Trademark misuse: Using the BashWeather name, logo, or branding in any way that could cause confusion, imply endorsement, or suggest an affiliation that does not exist.
• Training AI models: Using any BashWeather content, interface text, data, or visual assets as training data for machine learning or artificial intelligence models.

Violations may result in legal action under applicable copyright, trademark, and computer fraud laws, including potential claims for damages and injunctive relief.

5. DMCA Takedown Policy

BashWeather respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users to do the same. If you believe that content available through BashWeather infringes your copyright, you may submit a takedown notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512. Non-US rights holders may also use this process.

How to Submit a Takedown Notice

Send a written notice to our designated agent at privacy@bashweather.app with the subject line "DMCA Takedown Request." Your notice must include:

1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized agent.
2. Identification of the copyrighted work(s) you claim have been infringed.
3. Identification of the material on BashWeather that is allegedly infringing, with sufficient information to locate it (URL, screenshot, description).
4. Your contact information: name, address, telephone number, and email address.
5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
6. A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.

Counter-Notice

If you believe your content was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice. Counter-notices must comply with the requirements of 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3). We will forward the counter-notice to the original complainant.

Repeat Infringers

BashWeather will, in appropriate circumstances, terminate accounts of users who are determined to be repeat infringers.
