Purpose of This Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") defines the rules governing your use of BashWeather. It applies to all users, visitors, registered accounts, and any third party accessing BashWeather's services, interfaces, or APIs. By using BashWeather, you agree to comply with this policy in full. This AUP supplements and incorporates our Terms of Service.

Permitted Uses

You may use BashWeather to:

• Check current weather conditions and forecasts for personal, non-commercial use
• Save and manage personal weather locations
• Receive daily weather push notifications for saved locations
• View activity recommendations and prayer times based on local weather
• Share weather information with others for informational purposes
• Access the service via supported web browsers and PWA installation

Prohibited Uses

You must not use BashWeather to:

• Scrape or harvest data: Use automated bots, crawlers, scrapers, or scripts to extract weather data, user data, or any other content from BashWeather at scale
• Reverse engineer: Attempt to decompile, disassemble, or reverse engineer any part of the BashWeather application, service worker, API, or Cloudflare Worker code
• Redistribute data commercially: Resell, relicense, or commercially redistribute weather data obtained from BashWeather without written permission
• Build competing services: Use BashWeather's infrastructure, data, or branding to create a competing weather service or product
• Circumvent access controls: Bypass, disable, or interfere with security features, rate limiting, authentication, or any other access control mechanism
• Impersonate: Impersonate another user, BashWeather staff, or any third party through the service
• Safety-critical reliance: Rely solely on BashWeather for aviation, maritime, emergency, medical, or other life-safety decisions without independent verification from authorised sources
• Abuse push notifications: Attempt to manipulate, spoof, or flood the push notification system
• Overload systems: Intentionally send excessive requests that disrupt or degrade the service for other users
• Illegal use: Use the service in violation of any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation

API Misuse

Programmatic access to BashWeather's backend APIs is not publicly available. Unauthorised API access is strictly prohibited and constitutes a violation of this AUP and our API Terms of Use. Approved API partners must comply with the rate limits and usage restrictions defined in their individual access agreements.

Enforcement

BashWeather reserves the right to take any of the following actions in response to violations of this AUP, at our sole discretion and without prior notice:

• Immediate suspension or permanent termination of your account
• Blocking of your IP address or range
• Removal of saved data associated with the violating account
• Referral to law enforcement or legal authorities
• Civil legal action to recover damages

Reporting Abuse

If you observe any use of BashWeather that violates this policy — including scraping, impersonation, or other harmful activity — please report it to us immediately.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via a notice on the app or via email if you have provided one. Continued use of BashWeather after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
